  1. character classes:
  2. there are six classes that make
  3. up the available professions in
  4. ancinets.  a good balance of
  5. magic and fighting ability
  6. works best.

  8. 1. warriors are the first prof-
  9. ession.  they spend their lives
  10. training for battle and sub-
  11. sequently can use any weapon or
  12. wear any armor.  warriors can
  13. cast no magical spells, however,
  14. they can use some magical items.
  15. 2. rogues are characters who
  16. rely on cunning and stealth as
  17. opposed to brute force.  a
  18. rogue, for instance, is slightly
  19. harder to hit in combat and
  20. is better able to defend.
  21.  
  22. 3. priests are people who have
  23. devoted their lives to the
  24. church.  as a result, they gain
  25. the power of the gods and can
  26. cast many spells.  healing the
  27. injured is their livelihood.
  28. many priest are very good
  29. warriors, however, they may
  30. not use edged weapons as they
  31. prefer to bludgeon their
  32. enemies to death.
  33.  
  34. 4. mages are intellects who
  35. spend their life studying the
  36. mysterious magical lore.  they
  37. are very poor warriors as they
  38. rely on magic and intellect to
  39. burn, freeze, fizzle, disint-
  40. egrate, and desmember their
  41. enemies.
